Cook (Pizza)

Haus of Gelato is expanding our food offering and is looking for an experienced Cook (Pizza) to join our team.

The role involves preparing and cooking fresh pizzas and other food items, preparing ingredients, operating cooking equipment, and maintaining consistent food quality and food-safety standards.

• Prepare pizza dough/bases, sauces, toppings and other ingredients
• Prepare and cook pizzas to order
• Operate and regulate pizza ovens and other cooking equipment
• Prepare, season and cook other menu items as required
• Check ingredients and prepared food for quality and freshness
• Portion and present food consistently
• Prepare food for dietary requirements where required
• Store ingredients and prepared food safely at appropriate temperatures
• Monitor kitchen stock and assist with ordering supplies
• Maintain clean and hygienic food preparation and cooking areas
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment
• Follow food-control, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures
• Assist with developing and improving pizza and other food menu items

• At least 2 years of relevant commercial cooking/food preparation experience
• Practical experience preparing and cooking pizzas
• Experience using commercial pizza ovens and food-preparation equipment
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling
• Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be available to work evening and night shifts
• Must be available for rostered weekends and public holidays as required
